13/6/2007: RoomShaker V1.75 Released. Version 1.75 improves RoomShaker & POPLM's 'MS Windows Vista' compatibility with new HTMLHelp-format help files for both RoomShaker & POPLM.

Version 1.75 also improves 'Vista' compatibility with the addition of 'DosBox - Prince of Persia' launching. Simply configure RoomShaker to point to your DosBox.exe and DosBox.conf files then use the DosBox features within RoomShaker and POPLM, See RoomShaker Help (RoomShaker.chm) for more information.

This version also includes a few small improvments, see changes log.

11/2/2007: RoomShaker V1.74 Released. Version 1.74 adds some new cool features including 'Automatic Background' feature.
This version also has a couple of user interface improvments, nicer font in the tiles and modifiers dropdown list boxes + icons in the tiles list. see changes log.

31/12/2005: RoomShaker Version 1.73 released. V1.73 is a very small upgrade but also a nessessary one as it fixes a bug with the popup menu when the 'context' key is pressed.

Also, small improvments have been made to the code.

Some more icons have been added to the menu as well.

03/04/2005: RoomShaker Version 1.72 released. V1.72 adds extra save options: Save and Run, Save PLV.

Also added are menu icons for both the main menu and popup menu as well as 2 improved drawing styles.

V1.72 includes code improvments: Fixed PoP execute code. Fixed bug fixed that prevented loading in Win98. Fixed bug in guard hp code for when no level is loaded and improved RS exit codes.

POPLM Updated to support the new menu styles.

16/01/2005: RoomShaker Version 1.71 released. V1.71 mostly improves upon the error checking and code improvements to both Roomshaker and POPLM.

It also adds a new "Keyboard Commands" dialog box for viewing the keyboard map.

Added Tool-Tips to the edit toolbar.

PoP Levels manager's PoP launching code has been improved, POPLM now runs PoP in the same way that RoomShaker does.

02/01/2005: RoomShaker Version 1.7 released today. V1.7 adds the long awaited “Undo” features.

All editing features (Exept 'Clear Entire Level') can be undone by pressing Ctrl+Z on the keyboard. (Also accessable through the 'Edit' menu and the toolbar)
Includes an adjustable size command history which is resizeable through RoomShaker Setup.

“Clear entire level” function clears the undo command history, this is NOT a bug, future versions may support undo for this function though.

Added an “Undo Command History” dialog box, view the edit operations that are rememered by the undo system and also undo multiple commands at once.

Removed the printing functions as they were pretty-much useless.

Fixed a bug in the “Insert Room” popup menu function.
Fixed a bug in the “Autoclean” function.
Improved handling of “Room connecting to self” while initializing the level.
Small code improvments.

Added “TroubleShooting” topic to the help file, covers RoomShaker Setup & Loading levels.

11/10/2004: New version of RoomShaker coming soon, Version 1.7 will add undo support.

New levels sets added to the files post page “spf_levels09“ and “spf_levels10“ both by Steven Fayers is strongly recommend giving these a go.

21/08/2004: RoomShaker Version 1.68 released today.
RS v1.68 adds an Object Properties dialog box, accessable through the pop-up menu.

Added Save To Level feature to the “File” menu, levels can now be saved to a different level number within the currently active level-set.

Added 3 extra bytes to the configuration setting within the RoomShaker.ini file (not backwards compatible, you must delete your existing RoomShaker.ini file if updating from a previous version)

RoomShaker now supports Prince of Persia's special 'Loose Floor' tile (only falls if another tile or the player falls onto it). To set this tile go to the object properties dialog box for tiles.

Updated Levels manager to version 1.41, supports the new RoomShaker.ini format.

02/06/2004: RoomShaker Version 1.67 released today.
RS v1.67 adds Guard Hit-Point Editing. The number of times the guards must be hit before they die can now be modified by RoomShaker.

Editing player start & guards -> Editing the guard hit-points.

Prince of Persia does not save the hit-points information with the other level data, it is saved inside the Prince.exe file therefore a valid Prince.exe file is required in your RoomShaker configuaration.

Added shortcut keys to the “Tools” menu, they can now be accessed by pressing the corresponding F# key.

Improved the Levels Manager application (POPLM v1.4) supports single level extraction. Extract levels from level-set files and save to PoP Level(.plv) format or Raw code-dump(.dmp) format.
Note: The .plv format is the only export file format that can be opened by RoomShaker.

09/03/2004: A new utility created by myself has been added to the downloads page: PoPTools v1.0 allows the user to quickly launch PoP from windows with level skipping (uses megahit) and also allows the user to set the “Hit-Points” of the guards, supports guards on levels 0 -> 13. The Hit-Point editor will also be added to the next version of RoomShaker as well.

PoPTools is very easy to use, simply tell it which PoP executable file to use then select the tab of the function you want to perform, the rest is self-explainetory. You can also save the name of the exe file by selecting an exe file and clicking the “Default” button.
This utility will be updated with more tools in the future as more features are added.

29/02/2004: RoomShaker Version 1.66 released today.
RS v1.66 adds Level Importing and Exporting. A level may now be exported to a single level (.plv) file and imported from .plv or a full level-set file.

“Save As...” feature has been added to this version, works exactly like any other editor program.

Improved menu-item graying and modified indicator as well as some other small bugs fixed and code improvements.

RoomShaker now directly launches PoP, the Prince.exe file is now used instead of a Quick-Launch .bat file. This requires the Prince executable file instead of the QLaunch .bat file in the RoomShaker Setup box.

The batch-file creator has been removed from this version now as the Quick-Launch .bat file method of launching PoP is no longer used.

17/02/2004: New version of RoomShaker coming soon v1.66 will support the new level export .PLV format, featuring level-export to PLV, level-import from PLV and full level-set.

The new version will also include a 'Save As...' feature which saves (updates) the whole level set to a new file without modifying the current one then switches over to the newly saved one.

It also has an updated segment file 'RoomShaker.sif', 'Select All' feature in the room editor and some small code improvements.

The PoP 'Level Post' page has been updated to 'Files Post' and two new graphics sets have been posted, both by Steven Fayers and both change the dungeon graphics.

12/01/2004: RoomShaker Version 1.64 released today.
It is seriously recommended that all users of RoomShaker update to version 1.64

V1.64 Includes a few very important bug fixes, i.e: Room 24 gate linking bug, multiple used-room dragged from buffer bug that was causing havoc with the level drawing.

A few features have also been added. They are:
1. “Debug start” point (Temporary player starting point).
2. Select from 8 different colours for the “Selection Mark” in the room editor. (Saves to RoomShaker.ini)
3. RoomShaker now saves your view menu choices (Top 3) to RoomShaker.ini

2 warnings have also been added to the level checking system.

Import and Export features have been bumped up to the next version due to the bug corrections. (I wanted to get these out to the users as soon as possible)

07/01/2004: New level-set file posted today: “spf_Levels05.zip” by Steven Fayers. These levels are great, any pop fan simply must check these out. Every level of this set has been created fresh from scratch with a very nice style about them. Also there are heaps of hidden “Life Potions” for the player to search-out :)

This level-set can be downloaded from the Levels Post section of this website.

New Version of RoomShaker coming soon:
Version 1.64 will address a few bugs and add the following features:
Debug Start: Create a temporary starting position for level testing.
Level Export & Import: Save a single level to disk and the ability to load an exported level.
Additional level-error checks.

27/11/2003: RoomShaker v1.6 released today. Version 1.6 has improved file format support as well as a whole bunch of improved features including the error checker and double the number of “Links” to doors / gates.

Updated .sif file now named “RoomShaker.sif” and the .ini file is now called “RoomShaker.ini” if coping over a previous version of RoomShaker, delete “Levels.sif” and rename “Files.ini” to “RoomShaker.ini”.
This version also includes some improved tile graphics.

It is strongly recomended that anyone using a previous version of RoomShaker upgrade to version 1.6 due to the highly improved format support.

28/10/2003: This site has now moved from geocities (no more links getting covered by ads) with an improved design.
Each page of the RoomShaker site also includes a much more suitable disclaimer. A very special thanks to my gorgeous girlfriend for creating the disclaimer and helping me out there.

RS_V1.6 will include extended features like extra Button -> Door links, the ability to edit a level set other than the default and most importantly “improved format support” and more...
